Art & Ecology Club - Adults (6 weeks)
Explore the relationship between art, ecology, and place in this reflective, hands-on studio class for adults. Each session we’ll work with natural materials, clay, and found objects while learning about the interconnected ecosystems of our region—from watershed dynamics to keystone species like salmon, kelp, and herring. Through guided making, discussion, and short readings, we’ll consider how creative practice can cultivate deeper attention, reciprocity, and care for the living world. This class invites curiosity, conversation, and a willingness to see art as part of a broader ecological community. No prior experience needed—just an interest in making and in paying closer attention to the places we inhabit. Open to everyone ages 16 & up.
This is a 6 week class, 2 hours per session.
Materials Provided: 25 lbs of cone 6 clay and a bucket. Studio equipment & tools, glazes, and firings also included.
Class Dates: Tuesday evenings 5pm - 7pm.
Feb 17 & 24, March 3, 10, 24, & 31. There will be no class during Spring Break (March 17th). Finished work can be picked up April 8th-12th.
