A creative, earth-centered studio class for teens who want to explore both art and the environment. Each week we’ll dive into hands-on projects using clay, natural materials, and simple sculptural techniques while learning about local species, habitats, and ecological change. Students will experiment, play, and collaborate as they create artworks inspired by the Salish Sea, forests, shorelines, and the wider watershed. We’ll talk about real environmental challenges—but also about imagination, stewardship, and the power young people have to shape a better future. No experience required; just bring your curiosity and your love for the natural world. Open to everyone ages 12 - 18.
This is a 6 week class, 2 hours per session.
Materials Provided: 25 lbs of cone 6 clay and a bucket. Studio equipment & tools, glazes, and firings also included.
Class Dates: Wednesday evenings 5pm - 7pm.
Feb 18 & 25, March 4, 11, 25, & April 1st. There will be no class during Spring Break (March 17th). Finished work can be picked up April 8th-12th.
