Focus on Tableware (6 weeks)
Create your own handmade tableware set in this six-week class combining both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Designed for students with some clay experience, this course guides you through crafting functional pieces such as plates, bowls, mugs, and serving dishes that work together as a cohesive set. We’ll explore form, proportion, and ergonomics, as well as surface design and glazing strategies that unify your collection. With a balance of demonstrations, guided practice, and individual support, you’ll develop the skills needed to design and complete a personalized set you’ll be proud to use at home or share with others. Open to everyone aged 16 & up.
This is a 6 week class, 2 hours per session. You will make 4 matching 4-piece tableware sets (dinner plate, side plate, cup, & bowl), along with a serving dish and big salad bowl, napkin rings and candlesticks.
Materials Provided: 25 lbs of cone 6 clay and a bucket. Studio equipment & tools, glazes, and firings also included.
