Herringware Bowl 2
My Herringware series celebrates the many remarkable species of forage fish that underpin the Salish Sea ecosystem. The exterior of the bowl is unglazed and a flowing pattern of carved white marks evokes a swirling school of fish. The design speaks of small gestures that add up to a collective movement, fish turning in unison, currents shifting— bringing the living energy of the sea to the table.
Perfect as a functional vessel or as a contemplative object, this bowl reflects the interconnectedness of people, food, and the ecosystems that sustain us. Durable yet refined, it is equally at home serving meals or standing alone as a piece of art.
Each bowl is unique, celebrating the beauty of handmade craft and the rhythms of the Salish Sea. Fish are cool!
